The children enjoyed themselves trying Yoga for the first time, based on a Minecraft theme. As well as having fun, this gave the children the opportunity to improve their flexibility, their posture and core strength. Listening carefully to instructions was also a key factor.

Yesterday afternoon, P5P invited our P7 class to work with and collaborate with them on building and extending their knowledge and understanding of using the IZAK 9 cubes and how to work as part of a team. This fantastic numeracy resource is used primarily in Key Stage 2, so this was a fitting opportunity for the P7 pupils to aid their P5 counterparts. As you can see from the photographs, children worked well together and communicated effectively. P5 will appreciate this extra assistance when they use the blocks for their upcoming Shared Education numeracy lessons. Many thanks to Mr Poots for inviting our class to help. It really was our pleasure.

Izak9 is a Numeracy Resource which really encourages the children to think and problem solve. To help P5P to get the most out of the Cubes, the boys and girls from P7T shared their knowledge and considerable expertise with the younger children. Many thanks to Mr Teggarty for allowing his Class to help the P5’s with their Numeracy learning. To be honest, I think that P7T also thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

This year, Healthy Kidz have introduced a new initiative, The Killer K, to replace The Golden Mile. To make it even more exciting, the children were provided with GPS Tracker Vests to record their times for running one Kilometre. P5P were naturally very excited to be the first to wear these Vests and recorded improved times. This will take place every Friday and gives each child a great opportunity to improve both their fitness and their running skills.
