P7T pupils enjoyed some time playing outside this morning in the snow. Some simple fun memories made.
P7 pupils were treated to a wonderful reading this morning by local NI author Lynda Haffey. The kids listened intently to every word, in a flashback lesson to their younger school days. This reflective piece encouraged pupils to think about themselves in this big world. When you think sloth, you think lazy, but this sloth chose to do things differently. Being happy and confident, and aware of our strengths are great attributes when heading in a new direction towards Post-Primary education. Kids engaged in effective conversation with Lynda and showed great respect to each other when considering Lynda’s novel. They had lots of fun.
Primary 7 had a wonderful day completing STEM activities. Pupils experimented, planned and created bridge structures and towers, with Peter from Sentinus. In groups, and working as a team, pupils worked together to build a paper tower that could hold 10kg in weight. They were also challenged to build a tall, strong and stable tower using KNEX parts. Pupils had lots of fun in their groups, and did a fantastic job. Well done, P7 😀
P7 had lots of fun in their Number Day tasks. They definitely did their bit and made a difference. Well done P7.
This morning, members of the Confucius Institute from the University of Ulster, came into visit P7T and P7MM to help our classes learn all about Chinese New Year. February 1st is the beginning of Chinese New Year, and this year is the year of the Tiger. Pupils were treated to costume dress up including a Panda outfit and a Dragon. They learned all about the origins of the Chinese New Year, learning about Nian the Dragon, and how he was scared away by the couloir red, loud noises and fire. Pupils loved learning about the tale, and were also treated to some traditional Chinese music. A truly wonderful moment that captivated the entire room. To end the workshop, pupils coloured in and designed their own traditional Chinese Opera masks. They loved asking questions and learning all about Chinese culture. As you can see from the photos, they had a lot of fun! Many thanks to the institute for their time, passion and expertise telling us all about the New Year. Much appreciated!
Thanks to all of you who donated to this charity before Christmas. On Friday 17th December we all wore our Christmas jumpers or festive outfits.
We raised a phenomenal £735.40 so many thanks. The cheque was handed over this morning to Rebecca who came into school to represent this very worthy charity.
P7T are learning about China and the influence that Robert Hart made. Today, we drew and designed our own Chinese Ming Dynesty Vases. We looked at the many designs and colours, looked at the difference between a real one and a fake one. Pupils enjoyed creating their own and colouring them. They really stood out with the card behind. Well done, P7. 😀
P7T recently produced a Internet Safety video showcasing some helpful tips to being careful online. They did a great job. Enjoy the video. 😀
P7T created some wonderful Climate Change projects in November. Today, they have committed to helping the Climate Change effort. They hate pollution and want to make change to make the world a better place. They hate pollution!
P7T did a great job in their technology project creating their inflatable lungs. The bin bag acts as the diaphragm muscle pulling air into our lungs. In this project, the balloon acts as our lungs, where air is literally pulled in an airtight container (plastic bottle). The children did a great job creating them. Pupils explained the process very well in the video. Well done P7T.
