The Key Stage 2 pupils were treated a visit from the Reverend William Orr, who led the assembly. He told us the story of Moses from the Bible and encouraged us to show love and kindness to others. We always enjoy a visit from Reverend Orr!
The WAU topic for this half term in P5D is Space. The boys and girls have been busy learning the names and order of all the planets. This week they used chalk pastels to create pictures on black paper of all the planets. Here are a few photographs to show them at work.
P5D had a great week learning about play scripts. They enjoyed reading a variety of different plays, acting out the plays and also writing a play script in groups.
On Friday 20th October P5D performed an Egyptian class assembly for their parents and all of the KS2 children in school. They were truly fantastic throughout the whole performance! Here are a few photos to show what they did during the assembly.
On Tuesday 10th October, Nigel and Alys from the Ulster Orchestra came into school to perform a concert for P5 and P7. The children learnt all about the different instruments that make up an orchestra and enjoyed listening to Nigel and Alys playing a variety of different pieces of music. Some children then got the opportunity to play instruments and be the conductor. Here are a few photos to show what the children did.

Mrs Davison invited Paula and Julie from the Dogs Trust into school today. They took workshops in both P4 and P5 classes. Here are some photos to show what they did in P5D. The children now have a better understanding of how to stay safe around dogs.
P5D had great fun this afternoon completing a variety of activities linked to the WAU topic - Ancient Egyptians. Look at the photos and you can see them trying to build pyramids using lots of different materials, designing Egyptian collars and being wrapped up like an Egyptian mummy!
