This afternoon P5D planned and carried out a Science Experiment while ensuring it was a fair test. They had to try and work out which solid or liquid would be best at preserving (Mummifying - like during Egyptian times) pears. They had a super time - here are some photos to show what they did. Now they have to wait 2 weeks to see if their predictions are correct.
It was a beautiful afternoon and P5D made the most of the sunshine and headed outside to complete the Killer K.
This afternoon P5D enjoyed logging onto the computers and using iPads to access the Egyptian articles on NewsDesk. They throughly enjoyed listening and watching to the videos and reading the information in each of the articles. Lots of interesting facts have been learnt and comments left on some of the articles.
Fantastic morning spent solving lots of problems using the IZAK 9 cubes. It was great to get into the school hall and let the children work in groups to use the IZAK 9 cubes in Numeracy this morning.

P5D have loved getting settled back into school routine and especially the Healthy Kidz sessions with Stevo and new coach Emily. Here are some photos to show what they have been doing this week.
P5D have enjoyed settling into their new classroom and have been busy thinking about what they want to do in the future. There was lots of great discussions about what jobs they would like to do when they are older. Have a look at some of the photos showing what they think might be their future careers.
On Thursday 27th April we had Oasis come into school for a workshop with P5 pupils from Presentation PS. The boys and girls really enjoyed seeing their friends from Presentation PS and loved the workshop. Here are some photos to see what they were doing.
On Thursday 20th April we had a visit from Wendy who works for the Livestock & Meat Commission. She came into school to explain about how meat is produced in Northern Ireland and used some beef to make us a lovely pasta bolognaise dish. Pupils in P5D throughly enjoyed listening to Wendy, asking her questions, watching her cook and eating the lovely food. This visit linked very well with the new WAU topic P5 are studying this term - Farming.
