Congratulations to all our winners, including Lukas whose Mathletics points won him a special award for the term.
Today was a special Friday as we had 6 prizes to award — FFFB, Healthy Kidz Star of the Week, 2 Teacher’s Stars of the Week and 2 Teacher’s Monthly Certificates. The children were delighted to be rewarded for their hard work.
P4S loved wearing their odd socks to school this week. Our odd socks reminded us of how we are all different and that we should celebrate our differences and uniqueness. After all, the world would be a very boring place if we were all identical!! As the theme for this year’s Anti-bullying week was ‘One Kind Word’, we wrote down as many kind words as we could and then took turns to say kind things to each other. We also enjoyed an assembly from Sarah Emerson (Scripture Union) where we learnt that in the bible it says in
Ephesians Chapter 4 verse 9: When you talk, don’t say anything bad, but say the good things that people need ——- whatever will help them grow.
We decided that this will be our new class motto.
Congratulations to our prize winners:
FFFB........ Mason and Lucas
Teacher’s certificates..... Joao and Elyssia
GTBG raffle winner...... Christopher
Also many congratulations to our Mathletics certificate winners and to Rosie who showed us her keyboard skills today. She’s a talented little musician!!
Today we had a really interesting time when Julie, from the Dogs’ Trust, visited. It was so interesting to learn how to treat our treasured pets.
P4S have been learning all about 3D shapes this week, so this morning we ventured out around the school to spot some real life examples. The children found lots. It was quite difficult to find a sphere but see if you can guess what we spotted from the last photo.
Congratulations to Macey who won September’s GTBG raffle. She chose a book by David Williams as her prize. Happy reading Macey.😀
There was great excitement today when we went out to plant the conkers and acorns the children have collected on their nature walks. We used plastic bottles and milk cartons as plant pots. This was to encourage the children’s environmental awareness as we were reusing these and so reducing waste.
We hope to have lots of chestnut and oak seedlings in the spring time. It’s amazing to think that these little acorns and conkers will grow into great big trees some day!
The weather in September has been really lovely so we have headed outdoors to enjoy learning in the outside environment.
